When you fill out our questionnaire, the insurely team receives your responses. We then use our experience, product knowledge and discussions with customer service experts at insurers to identify the policies that will best meet your needs at the most affordable price.
We review policies from at least 10 insurers for each customer request, and put together a shortlist of the best 5.
Nothing – we offer our policy recommendations for free.
We believe that there is significant value in the human touch – having real experts consider your personal circumstances. Unfortunately this takes time with a product as complex and important as private health insurance. Sure, we could give you an instant recommendation. But there’s a reason you’re here and not on one of our competitors websites – because you know those recommendations just don’t cut it.
We know sooner is always better, and we’re working hard on reducing the time it takes to deliver your results.
We currently compare the top 10 open health insurance funds/brands in Australia – Bupa, Medibank, HCF, NIB, HBF, ahm, Australian Unity, GMHBA, HIF and Latrobe Health Services. As of June 2018, these insurers accounted for 87% of all active policies in Australia.
We know that a few sentences isn’t likely to give you enough information to purchase a policy. That’s why we include the find out more button for each recommendation. Press this button, and you’ll be prompted to leave a callback number. A customer service expert from the insurer will then get in touch with you to discuss the policy in more detail.
If you’d rather not leave your number, you can also learn more about our recommended policies on each insurer’s website.
This is a tricky question, and one that is going to be different for each person. We’ve put together a guide that you can use when evaluating whether a policy is right for you, which you can view here.
Directly with the insurer, through one of two ways
- Click the find out more button next to the policy recommendation, and you’ll be prompted to leave a callback number. A customer service expert from the insurer will get in touch to get you set up
- If you’d rather not leave your number, you can also purchase a policy directly through the insurer’s website or call centre. Most insurers have a simple and straightforward process for customers to take out a new policy
Where do we start… insurely was born out of our frustration with existing comparison websites. We hated the poor recommendations we were receiving, brands we’d never heard of, aggressive sales tactics, confusing comparison tables, and the conflicts of interest from websites that were supposed to be impartial.
Read more about what makes us different here.
While at times we may reach out to insurers to discuss your health needs, we never share any identifying information. Your contact details are only shared with insurers if you explicitly submit a request for a particular insurer to call you. In this case, only that insurer will be given your number.
At this stage we’re trialing our service and are not being compensated. You can trust that the policy recommendations we provide you with are not being influenced by how much an insurer pays us.
